I know it really depends on how much traffic you pull in and where the ad will be placed but I am curious how much you think you should charge.

Do you currently do this? If so, how much do you typically charge for someone to put an ad on your site?

What is depending on the kind of his ability that you can be able to count them and the size of the advertisement all the nature. Paid per click advertisement are usually the most expensive.

Pricing your available advertising space is not an easy task since there is no standard pricing structure that can fit all websites. Each website, each blog, each content provider that uses advertising as their primary, or one of the sources of revenue, are different. Advertising on a fly-fishing site is different from advertising on a music-downloading site.

These are some of the aspects you should consider when determining the ad rates:

  • Content quality
  • Traffic
  • Audience interests

How much you can charge can really depends how much traffic you are getting from the website because how much can determine the amount you can spend, when charging on something you need consider what the person is getting.

Let's say you get 3,000 daily visitors, the content it ranked well, and people are interested. What would something like this typically charge for a top-of-the-page ad?

With 3,000 page views a month, you most likely wouldn’t expect to see much ad revenue at all.
I heard a blogger saying that , 3000 visitors a month will only result in around $50–100 in ad revenue.

So you would charge $50 to $100 per month per ad then?

I know with my one blog, I was earning $700+ a month with those numbers through an ad program. I wasn't selling the ad space myself but allowing them to put ads for other companies on my site.

For someone to put ads on my site, i will charge him two dollars per week so in four weeks time, i will be be able to generate eight dollars per month.

The major determinant of the amount to charge for ads on your website is determined by the amount of traffic you have driven to it. This is what will determine the amount you will charge . It is similar to the radio or TV media. The radio or TV media with large listeners or viewers will charge more.

Is there an industry standard or common number?

For example, $3 per 1,000 views or something like that?

It doesn't work that way that is probably no fixed amount. What you going to do is that you going to charge for ads space depending on number of traffic that you are able to generate .

the amount of traffic you get to your website every month will determine the amount of money you are going to charge for an ad space. Someone who gets around 100,000 traffic every month and someone who gets up to a million will not charge the same amount of money.

The amount to be charged for an ads determined on how the content is, also the traffic of such ads and also how long will it be in such forum or site, that will determine the charges to be paid.

The time to display the ads is also a major determinant in the amount to collect as a fee or charges the ones that will be displayed for a long time will attract more charges than the ones that would be display for a shorter time and the traffic on the platform is a major determinant too.

An advertisement space should not cost more than a dollar per day if there is going to be a guarantee that it will return more than 100 people in a day to view.

The volume of people you have brought to your website is an important consideration when figuring out how much to ask for advertisements there. This will establish the price you will charge.

The think that the cost of advertisement space may depend on the CPM rates offered by many advertisement networks. The higher CPM rate, the better it would be for the website owner.

I do not believe that there is a fixed price that should be charged for placing advertisements on a platform. This monetary aspect of promotion is dependent on the amount of traffic that the site generates in a stipulated period

the amount that should be paid for ads should depend on various factors, like the number of quality visitors that are on you site and the numbers of impression or click through rate as well.

I think that is actually very true. If majority of your traffic is coming from top tier countries, the amount of money you are going to charge for ad space will be higher.
