How much money do Forums make and how?

I think most forums that have great ranking on google are acquiring it from the following sources:

1. Direct Advertisers

2. Membership Upgrades

3. Google AdSense

4. Marketplace

As I would see it a forum should search for novel and unique ways to maximize profit.

I agree with you on this, most forum make a lot of money and generate revenue from advertisement. As at last week I had this similar argument with a friend of mine who was in support that most forum do not have any source of revenue and with time it will stop paying, while on my own side I tried my best to make her understand that they generate revenue from advertisement and many more

Most of these money making forum makes alot of Money by generating traffic by their users thereby gaining from their data usage.
Also goggle pay most of them when blogger use their site.

I have read in one thread that a forum can be monetized by several platforms like Adsense, Media.net, Infolinks to name a few. If indeed those monetization platforms will be a source of income then I guess forums have a way of increasing the rate of revenue sharing. The 2 most popular forums that I know are paying only 1.5 cents per post although there is no limit to the length. On forum pays the highest at 6 cents per comment and this forum Bizdustry pays 5 cents per comment.

I cannot say how much forums can earn but I will give one example. Recently, Bizdustry started using A-Ads. This ad network pays 17 cents per 1000 impressions and 2 cents per click. The site will earn just about $20 in a day if there are 1000 clicks, but then 1000 clicks per day do not happen even on a popular site. A-Ads also pays per 1000 impressions. If there are 10, 000 views per day the site will earn $17. Well, this is also an average earning that is paying thousands of dollars per week.

that's interesting calculation. Now, add infolink revenue, adsense revenue, banner ads revenue, membership earning, referral earnings, etc. The revenue could be really high. They cannot pay you if they are not making money. Thats how business is managed.

I have been actually wondering how post to paid forums are able to pay its members. Like how much they are earning, how, and if it is enough to pay members. Even with many advertisements, there are also many members to pay.

But I have a question, if no one clicks on all the affiliated links and advertisement on Bizdustry will they still make their money? Because I see a lot of these links all over get paid forums and I'm wondering if that's the only way they make funds

That's A very good question... I do wonder where they get their profit from to pay members, although as u have stated above, are these enough to earn them that much.? I would so love to know ask this process so i could start one one day

I can't really say how muchoney forums make but I know they make money.online forums generate money through traffic's on there site .the traffic they generate is the one that is giving them money, if there is no money there, they won't be creating it

I think there's no other way than that, i just wonder how they were able to pay each and everybody with it.

It's definitely a lot harder nowadays to monetize forums especially if you want to provide a good service to your users and not bombard them with advertisements. If you're not going to use AdSense, the best ways to make money is to offer paid membership upgrades or even accept donations from your users. If they really like your forum, they would be happy to donate some money to help you out with costs.
