How fast do you let new tenants move in?

When someone rents a property from you, do you let them move in right away? Or is there a wait time in order for new tenants to get all the required forms and background checks done. How fast can someone move in from inquiring about the property to offering payment?

I believe as soon as everything is set such as documentations and payment structure as been put in place, the tenant can move in whenever they wish to.
