How do you value a domain name for sale? Should you avoid the ‘domain valuation tools online’ which calculate it within seconds from Artificial Intelligence and instead, hire a professional to Audit your domain’s back links, age, and keywords?

Has anyone here actually got a domain name valued before? What’s the best way to value a domain?

You have to evaluate if the domain name has actually been used as a website with content before. People will generally just buy domains that are closely associated with their own.

You can use past sale report of similar domain to evaluate it's worth. Or you approach veteran in domain business to help you appraise it. Those artificial appraise that determine the worth of domain within a seconds are not to be taken serious. Lest I forget, another ways is to consider the niche the domain can be used for. Restore and pressure washer can not by domain at the same rate.

I have not gotten one evaluated myself. I think the value of the domain depends on keywords and trends. If you are able to use a high-traffic word in your domain, there is a good chance it is worth more money.

Well I'll value the domain based on how much traffic it gets and how much revenue it brings in but I'll also assume that the buyer will also have his own methods of valuing the site as well.

I don't really know how to value a domain name for sale since i've never gotten a domain name valued before. I think one can value a domain based on how much traffic it gets.

When I list my domain form sale, I will add the amount I spent on domain registration and renewal and add 20 percent profit margins to the domain. The domain valuation tool does not actually work. It once valued my domain for $1500 but I was unable to sell even for $100.
