How Do You Lose Weight?

Losing weight is a goal that many people have. So how to effectively lose weight?

Personally I feel that, losing weight can be done by cutting down on calories and doing exercises (both cardio and weight lifting).

I am actually trying to gain weight! I eat a ton and lift weights but I do not seem to be gaining much muscle. I am a runner and biker as well so that may be the reason. If you want to lose weight, go for bike rides or runs along the beach while listening to your favourite music. It is relaxing and good exercise. I need to gain weight so I need to do more weight training. You can also do cardio using weights that are less heavy.

I eat so much rice and meat haha! I even eat burgers, hot dogs, and pizza! Sometimes I gain a couple pounds but then the next day I lose it all somehow. I have been incorporating more protein into my diet with no results! More tips would be appreciated!
 
Then maybe perhaps you have a very high metabolism. There are many people who eat a lot, but they don't gain weights.
 
Well, I got a new idea to lose weight and that is to fast and not eat. Fast and workout, its a great idea in my opinion. I work out almost everyday while im fasting even though I am not trying to lose weight.
 
Well, fasting is beneficial but if you fast all year long, it can actually backfire.

Fasting once in a while is fine, in my opinion.
 
Yeah, Fasting too much can actually do harm to you. But fasting like once a week couldn't hurt right? I prefer it one of the best ways to lose weight, but remember to work out and do a lot of running.

Fasting to try to lose weight is the WORST thing you can do! Losing weight is just not about exercising, and eating nothing, you got to eat a healthy diet! You would be better eating junk then fasting!
 
Well, some say that fasting is good while some may say fasting is bad. It is debatable. I can show you many links that say fasting is actually good for health. I can also show you many links that say fasting is bad.

Here is a quote that sums it up perfectly:

Okay, but did you know it is better to snack then to eat 3 big meals? So by fasting, your metabolism is not working and your body goes into survival mode.
 
Our bodies do not go into survival mode for not eating once a week. Again, everybody is different and we all have different bodies and different metabolisms.

Fasting will be really good for those who are obese.

No it won't. Being obese is better then fasting.
 
Well, I think we can safely say now you are trolling. You have lost a bit of credibility to me, by saying obesity is better than fasting.
Thanks for calling me a troll. Starving yourself is not healthy at all. Once you start to eat again you will either eat more or your body will think it is getting it's rare chance at food and store it.

Being obese and eating healthy is better then fasting.

When you are obese, you must lose weight! Only way to lose weight is by cutting down on calories or by increasing activities.

When you fast, you cut down on calories, which can help obese people to lose weight.

But that does not mean, you should fast 365 days a year. What that means is, you can fast once in a while and still be in good shape.
