Personally I always go to my competitions sites and research my main keywords hard core and try to find out what my site would offer to people in that niche that my competitors don't :D
What about you?

What you have mentioned here is extremely important because people are always going to be looking for something different if they are going to switch over from one website to another and i think that if you are able to see what they are offering you are able to strategically plan your offers to make sure that they are better and more enticing, especially for new people that are still weighing up the benefits of the two sites.

matrix like visibility and the amount of customers today usually serve is going to give you an insight into how far they are from you and things that you can be able to learn from them.

Yes, same thing I always do, but don't restrict yourself to only one website. Your competitors are not one, so why would you restrict your research to only one website. Anytime I want to write a new post to post on my blogger, I check competitors website.

There are some tools that can give you an estimate about the kind of metrics that your competitors website have been getting and you can then use this to know where you should be concentrating on the.

Competing with other people is a human nature, I must say. This is why so many forum owners and website owners usually try their best to compete with other forums and try their best to make their own forum successful.

For me it is nothing important for me as it doesn't make any money if you just compare someone but if you focus on your on website and if you see big jump and ranking higher than them means you're doing well.

A matrix such as visibility and the number of customers you normally serve today gives you insight into how far they are from you and what you can learn from them.

The number of consumers they typically service and matrix-like visibility will show you how far away they are from you and what you can learn from them.

There are various analytical applications that can approximate the types of statistics that your rivals' websites have been receiving, allowing you to use that same information to determine which areas you should focus your attention.

I guess i would do the same thing if i had a website. I would visit the other website and find out what my site could offer in that niche that they are not already offering on their site.

What is important for me in website management is what I dish out and not necessarily what my competitor's are doing, as I do not like to think about what my competitor's are up to.

well, Considering the fact that I don't have website of my own anymore, but you're right by saying this, it's not a bad idea to compete with your oponents as the case maybe.

it also helps you to know what and how to serve your customers better as you are empowered with more better information to provide the customers with the best experience possible.

The difference between your website and the competition will not only be in the traffic analytics, but will also be in the unique, original and fascinating content that you release for viewers and readers to do the needful

Well that's the fact about it, in as much as you have a site of your own, at least once in a while try and search it, using different methods. Which may include searching through keywords to know how it appears.

I give emphasis to quality content. I also don't allow off topic, therefore my community is better than my competitors sites but sadly I have not been able to huild an much content as they have

To determine if your site has the "spark" compared to your competition, consider the following factors
Unique value proposition
Does your site offer a unique value proposition or solution that sets it apart from the competition?
User experience
Is the user experience of your site better than your competitors'? Is it easy to navigate and use?
Quality of content
Is the content on your site of higher quality and more relevant than that of your competitors'?
Speed and performance
Does your site load faster and have better performance than your competitors'?design and aesthetics: Is the design and aesthetics of your site more appealing and professional than your competitors'?
Customer feedback
Are your customers happier with your site than they are with your competitors'?
Search engine optimization
Is your site better optimized for search engines than your competitors', allowing it to rank higher in search results?

The user experience on my site is good as I make sure of that, because I would not go to a site again if the user experience is not good, so I took the time to make my own site top notch
