How do you fight complancency in a business environment

A friend of my siblings complained to me yesterday, he just started an advertising firm , and he already feels his employee are getting complancent off the back of executing a huge project. He feels the enthusiasm they all started with as somehow dwindled.
What advice do you have for him??

I think that the basis of the problem can be solved with motivation, rewards for work with incentives, competitions, there are many methods
 
I have some tips. While it is great to have each team members’ work spelt out a lot of their work will still involve team work and lots of collaborations. In collaborations duties can’t be so clearly separated. However it will be of great use if he outline fairly thought out processes for team and collaboration work making sure each member understands fully what they are supposed to handle, how communication should flow and the importance of feedback.
And also, Motivate Your Team. There are certainly several ways to keep morale high on the team and keep everyone focused and committed to the goal of the business apart from pure cash benefits. Exploring ways to keep your people motivated will involve making a poll of what they consider important in making their work easier and more enjoyable. A well motivated team will move faster and more assuredly towards the direction you want everyone to.
 
Employees have to be taken care, not everything should be put on them, give only work to employees and keep decision making power - your siblig's friend is missing boss quality.

When recruiting employees , there should be detailed assessment of their abilities to promote the business , and also a rule that will give the employer right to sack at any misconduct
 
When you find out, that their is complacency going on within your business. You should endeavour to call for general meeting to address the issue of the complacency going on. To know what came about it and solve it once and for all. In order not tangle your business to go on the down, because complacency is never a good idea in any business environment.
 
I sincerely understand you. To prevent complacency you have to Hold employees accountable for themselves and others to ensure everyone stays safe all the time, also be approachable and take safety complaints seriously.
 
If they're not been productive with the work they're doing and feels they are already launching there own firm in the same industry then he needs to sack them ASAP
 
As the boss, he needs to clearly define the roles of the employees and make sure all the employees are very familiar with their individual functions and what is expected of them. Staff who shy away from their duties or fail to meet a specific target at a given time should be sanctioned appropriately

His workers having such behaviour towards the job will not be good for his advertising firm. He needs to take steps and approaches so that they can go back to their former selves, have their Enthusiasm to work and put in their best as well.

I think the problem in that advertising business is the lack of motivation of the employees. A team building program can cure that problem when they realize that the business needs teamwork. You can instill in their minds that lack of progress in the business can be a reason for closing shop. The mere thought that they will lose their job will stir their motivation.

in busuenss, stuff like this is meant to happen and I believe a person should know how to handle every that comes up during the course of running his business as this is one of the things that determine who a business owner is from another
 
You can fight complacency in a business environment by making the business environment very competitive so that the staff would be highly motivated to put in their best.
 
Well there's nothing bad in improving but if the complacency of his employees is dwindling him from being focus he should be patients.
 
The issue of complacency should not be overlooked as long as business is concerned, too much of everything been taking for granted is bad and can affect output.
 
I think your friend should start setting targets and attaching strict consequences for not meeting up to the deadlines.
 
In a business customers need to be treated very good when ever such things happen in a business or whatever you need to call for meeting.
