How do you fight complancency in a business environment

The best thing to do would be to find out the issue, if you cannot find out directly, look for ways to pin point the issue, this would give you a better way to sort it out

If you hired people who think the work just as a job and do not care about the growth of the company, your workers are having too much self gratification, which is very bad for the survival of your business. You need to give your staff something to motivate and inspire to work harder.
 
When you find out, that their is complacency going on within your business. You should endeavour to call for general meeting to address the issue of the complacency going on. To know what came about it and solve it once and for all. In order not tangle your business to go on the down, because complacency is never a good idea in any business environment.

Fantastic reply you did here. You answered politely, by understanding the dangers attached in being too complacent in business enterprise.
 
What he needs right now are the enthusiasm they should be giving to him right now. He should check himself first. Is he owing them money? Is he being a problem to their work flow? Then he can make a clearcut action afterwards
 
Apply the divide and conquer technique, divide them into small units and give them tasks with deadline,and also throw them a bone by rewarding the most hardworking group.

I think most businesses can fight this complacency any business environment by bringing up new tasks and boosting its employees morale of the time so that they can be able to given their very best in the business.

If there is slack time in the work place then it is an opportunity to hold an activity for team building. A fun competition can be held like a board game or maybe a small program. In one office they have the karaoke hour.
 
Each employee should have a job description in which their duties are clearly spelt out and also resumption time, break time, closing time should be clear and known to all employees. An if there is any reason for them stay beyond there closing time then that should be an overtime which the boss should acknowledge and duly compensate them for.
 
Perhaps, the employees have recognized that their inputs are greater or not correlated with the output. Increase your employees incentive package and watch the positivity.
 
When a business is doing well, it is likely for complacency to set in. You can check this by always reviewing targets and objectives for each staff to keep them on their toes.
 
To get rid of complacency in business.
Make smart goals and ensure that every member of your team signs up for those goals.
If your goals are not achievable, complacency is bound to set in.
A friend of my siblings complained to me yesterday, he just started an advertising firm , and he already feels his employee are getting complancent off the back of executing a huge project. He feels the enthusiasm they all started with as somehow dwindled.
What advice do you have for him??
 
I think in this case motivation is highly needed , because it's part of what would actually increase or improve their desire when it comes to focusing on the project again

That's a great question to ask. Let's say it's an online business, it might be very hard to get all your employees back into the right track as many things are involved in this online stuffs these days. But nevertheless, you call for a meeting to ascertain their needs .
 
Complacency is very harmful for a business. Complacency is a condition when the business believes it is already good. If a company is Complacent it will never upgrade and generate more revenue,
 
Let your friend check if his motivation is still as the first time. Unknowingly to us most times, the energy we carry as business owners would be transmitted in the same vein to the employees.
He should remind them of the company's core values too.
 
Well that is what one is likely to experience mostly in a new start up,i believe that as the outfit progreses he will find his rhythm,but he can begin by imposing his strick company's rules on all staff.
