How do you define spiritualism?

How do you distinguish religion and spiritualism? If you believe in certain faith, are you a religious person or a spiritualist? Can someone become a spiritualist when he believes in particular sect. Do spiritualist believe in God, what kind of God they believe in? Is spiritualism a different kind of religion?

God is supposedly a spirit right? By believing in God, the person is into the belief of spiritualism. They can never be separated by my understanding.
