I follow a simple rule of 10%. If the phone/laptop or anything I'm looking to buy is priced under 10% of my net worth, I go for it. This way I save myself from buying unnecessary stuff.

Tip: If you are scrolling though amazon and you find something that you want to buy which you really cant afford right now, just keep it in your cart for a month. If you still feel after a month that you really really need it, go for it.

This is a good tip for sure. A lot of the time I tend to want to buy things I have been looking at but I always hold off as I know doing so when I am not sure would be a really bad idea.

I tend to go by the rule of when I have bought all my essentials, paid all my bills and anything else important that I need to pay, whatever I have left I can put towards buying something that I have been looking to get. This was something my parents always taught me and my brothers growing up.

That's a good strategy. Every month I allot 30 percent of my income for wants and wishes. If the fund remains unused, it will carry over for the next month, and then next month. I use this amount for the things I wish for, for instance, a phone. If my funds are not enough, I wait for a couple of more months until I have enough money to buy.

These are good tips! Trying to buy items that are not in the range that you want can be a difficult choice. At least, you should check how much you are earning, can you be able to service the item that you are buying? Before you decide to make a purchase. I have seen people that are not earning that much spending all their money on a gadget and I wonder how they reason.

When you are the person that is managing your own finances, you will definitely know that the money that you have for your expenses can be enough to afford whatever you want to buy or that it can't be able to afford it. If it can't, it's going to make you to cut down your budget and expectations on things that you want to buy to your financial capability.

Well, when it comes to buying a product, I consider various things. Do I really need the product? How long will the product last? What about quality? These are some of the questions that i ask myself before buying a specific kind of products. In many cases, many products are quite useful. So, they might be worth buying.

Well, my needs is something that I have always looked at whenever I want to purchase anything. This is because that's something that's going to cover for my priority. The next thing that I look into is my financial situation to affording the products or services. When these two things check out, the rest can be easily taken care of.
