You can't say it's not necessary. Taking financial management course may not be useful now, but it'll be useful tomorrow. Especially, if you're managing big business, your management skill will be put to test.

Financial accounting is a really tricky thing and I do not think that you just need basic knowledge when it comes to managing accounts of people. Sometimes, you must pursue courses related to advanced accounting.
