My goodness, you need to get yourself up to Scotland!

Unfortunately that would require my partner losing her job since she can't work 100% remotely and she's very passionate about what she does, as that would be too far away for the 1-2 days she does in the office. Not too many firms working on curing cancer in Scotland as I understand it.

Our mortgage is 28 years but mostly so we keep the monthly payments down and intend to overpay each month (in theory we could just about manage to clear it in 9 years, we asked the lender out of morbid curiosity!) but the grand plan is to clear it in about 18 years with the overpayments we expect to make.
