What is the most effective ways that a forum owner can use to make sure spammers are dealt with as it is obvious you cannot stop them from joining your forum at all.

From my own opinion, I think giving out rewards for those who report spammers would go a long way in helping to make sure they're properly handled.

What do you think?

The spammer could not post any content that contains:
Email address
Whatsapp number
External link
This could be easily developed.
A member can have a manual grant to post this if the abuse access is reverted.
There is no better than simplicity.

The best way to keep the forum clean is by issuing penalties to the spammers. That was what the owner of trendri does and it's really working. If you are found spamming certain credit would be deducted from your account.

Trendri is a good forum however people are thinking the moderation team is an idiot by either copy-paste from external resources or even translating french articles or Spanish articles to English and pasting them thinking that the admin will pay them for the effort made by other people.

You can stop probably most of them. I mean, so many of them are spambots. In that case, some strong protection at user registration is what's needed. Well, in my case, I ask people to spell a word backward.

Anyhow, for the people who are not spambots, you simply have to keep banning them and also utilize professional anti-spam software.

Don’t use or post your business or personal email address publicly, always ignore spam messages, and install spam filtering and anti-virus tools.

When I have someone who keeps trying to join back, I will IP band them as well as block their e mail. I also don't allow people to join using VPNs without being screened. They automatically get put into moderation no matter what they post or where.

Spammers can be either Bots or Humans. To block bots can implement Captcha, but this makes forum posting a little difficult. To avoid human spammers, can allow only registered members to post. If they post spam content, we can easily block their ID which can also delete all their posts.

I completely agree with you and if people are given some sort of monetary reward for the activities that they are doing such as reporting this activity then obviously they will become more active to look for it and make sure that the forum is of high quality.

I was once receiving over 100 spam messages on my forums. It was tedious work removing the spam messages. Then I put all new users on moderation for 50 posts, this helped me curb the spam issues.
