I was able to login and had been cleaning the friends list when Facebook notified me that my account is locked because I am not the owner. Until now the account remains locked. I wonder why they think I am not the owner when I just removed the friends of the hacker.

This i very true about the information hacker use and aslo will need to hack and get into our Facebook accounts. You have to keep certain aspect of your personal information private s possible

I also have a lot of friends whose accounts were hacked and they could not operate the account, hence they created another account and tarted using their account. Their hacked accounts remains idle. May be instead of person, it was the work of spam bots

I mean these people use their phone number which is visible as their Facebook account password. This makes it easy for the hacker to predict it and hack it.

I don't think there is anyway you can do it. The only thing am sure you can do is to report to Facebook and they will block the account. That way your info is safe.

Phishing is by far the simplest way for hackers to get access to people's facebook accounts.The users then click the link in the email which takes them to the fake Facebook login page. Once they enter their credentials, all data including usernames and passwords are sent to the hacker's email.

I think there is a way to report the matter to the admin to get your Facebook account recovered.
My account has never been hacked, but I know of persons who reported the issue and were able to successfully recover theirs.

What can one do in a bit to recover a hacked Facebook account from a hacker. I am seriously In need of a solution to this..
What do I need to have before I can go about the recovery process or do I just forget about it and consider creating a new one?

It is not possible to recovered your Facebook account when is been hacked because there is no way you can recover it back,unless you reopen another account

Since you are not a hacker I don't think it is possible for you to be able to recover it except you hire another hacker to hack back the FB account for you, but this may not be the right option to take. it is the best for you to just forget about it and create a new one and enable all security features.

I believe it's possible to recover your hacked account back. My Facebook was hacked last year and I was able to get it back from the hacker. As long as you have access to all the original details like the email, phone number username you used in opening the account, you can get it back. It might be Abit stressful though.

Well my account has never been hacked before but then I have friends who have actually gone through that and u can say that it is actually very annoying and stupid

The fact is that facebook never guarantees that they will keep your account safe and I think there is a major flaw in facebook's security system. They do not even take down offensive material, what can you expect from them?
