How comfortable are you with giving admin access to another person? I have never given admin access to any other person except through anydesk, a remote desktop application.

I won't feel very comfortable and there are times when I will feel comfortable but it depends on how dedicated the person is

It depends on the reason why I would need to give them admin access. At the moment, only myself and my other half have access to the admin side of the forum and I do have a user group set up so that if I ever need someone who developed an addon to come in and take a look at things, I can allow them to have access to the admin panel but it is limited to only what they need access to.

I am always cautious on who I allow to have admin access as so much damage can be done if you give that access to the wrong hands.

There is a danger of allowing people to have administrative access. However, sometimes you will have to do it especially when you want something to be done on the website and you have no skills to do it. Recently, I gave administrative access to a person to check the addons. I had known this developer form various webmaster forums and I trusted him.

I have trust issues with most people, so I try and limit administration access to myself. I even have a hard time trusting people to be moderators of my forum thinking they may ruin my community if they were upset about something or something was going horribly wrong in their life.

I don't mind giving access to the forum software owner seeing as he pretty much has access to our board through certain means on the server side anyway.

I have the type of community where I can fly solo, but it would always be nice to bring in some extra help to develop the community to a greater extent.

It would have to be someone I trust enough to run the site. But I wouldn't give them admin privileges for every aspect of the site. I would maybe give them access as a super mod to mod the forums. I won't give them access to add/remove topic areas, or add other areas to the site. It would be limited admin privileges.

I have been hired to work as an administrator on several forums. It's all about work and they needed my services as an administrator to help them run their forum from the backend. I can hire a staff whom I know about his skills as an administrator if I needed the help.

I have been granted admin access to a couple of sites. I was hired by the owner as a site manager, so I had admin access. I could have hijacked the site if I wanted. Giving someone admin access without knowing him or thoroughly can be very dangerous.

I had to warn someone yesterday about posting an administrator login account publicly is one good way for a random user to do damage to their board. You never know of "random" users' intentions, which is why it can take a great deal to build trust between you and another individual you meet online.

As a site owner., sometimes you will have to give access to another person. That's where remote desktop applications come in use. If you need to give admin access, use a remote desktop application like any desk. If you need to give access too frequently, limit the areas where the person can access. Also frequently moderate what he is doing on your site.

I would say that it depends on where the forum owner hired the staff from. There are some platform where if any forum owner is hiring anyone to work as an administrator, they know it's trustworthy place where they won't be scammed by whom they hired.

I've had to have temporary admins help me fix some problems when I first started my forum. I was still quite new so I took a leap of faith in the trust department. I prefer to do things on my own however. But if I did need help, my forum has been around over 3 years & I've gotten to know many people around the forums I could go to for help.

I had the same experience when I started my working relationship with Devin. I was able to even learn how to fix minor backend problems on my own and if it's something that I can't fix on my own, he introduced me to professional who can do it and they are forum users too. I have come to have a big pool of experts who can help me out tomorrow in case I run into a wall.

I won't give admin access freely to anyone. People can't be trusted easily as they can change when you least expect it. Website owners have had their website hijacked before because of giving admin access to someone they shouldn't have.

The best way to give admin access to another person, if needed, is by using a remote desktop application. This will not put your account under the risk but you will be able to get help on your issues by letting another person check your site.

It is much preferable to give admin access to people whom you know personally. For example, you may give the admin access to your partner in case if you have created a website with your partner. However, you must give access to the other person, especially if you are going on a vacation.

There's a very small chance of knowing anyone whom you met online personally. It's when you have dealt with someone for a long to identify and understand their personality, then you will know if it's wise to give them admin access to your website.

What if you encounter a problem on your website and you cannot solve it? Wouldn't you give admin access to someone to fix the problem?

In this case, you won't be left with any other choice but to give the access to another person. The only thing that you must make sure is to know the kind of person whom you're giving access to. If it's possible to get someone on recommend who is reliable and trustworthy, that would be the best way to go.
