Free vs. Paid

I've seen a lot of debate going on between free forum hosting and paid forum hosting. Which do you think is better?

I, personally, don't see what is wrong with free forum hosting. My forum has never been down, the admin panel is easy to manage/navigate and I've always gotten the help I needed from the support system. I think a free forum host is a great way for a first time admin to start up their forum.

The only thing about free forum hosts is that they almost always have advertisements. I can't stand having a banner ad on my forum, especially when they put it at the top and it's a 728x90 one.

For me it depends on what i am using hosting. If i am using for some test projects and small forums its okay to have free hosting because you don't need anything bigger then that. But if i am doing some big project that is going to be live on Internet then i like to use paid hosting for it.
