Floor Standing Toms?

Basically the question I'm asking is maybe for the more experienced drummers on the forum, but what do we prefer on our kits, floor standing toms or suspended and why? It seems that a few years ago hanging toms started to become more and more popular on nearly every custom kit you saw, but personally I always preferred the sound we got from the floor standing ones but it seemed that I was the only one.

Would just like to see what others think about this, and if there really IS a difference between the two, or is the difference in sound negligible at best and not worth worrying about?
