Darth Vader is my favorite villain for these reasons:
I love how Vader projects a menacing and powerful appearance. He exudes power and fear with his powerful build, his deep voice, and his black armor and helmet. I also like his background story. Before he joined the dark side, Anakin Skywalker was a talented Jedi Knight with a terrible history. He becomes an intriguing figure due to his journey into sin and eventual fall from grace.
Also because of his proficiency with the lightsaber and his use of the Force, Vader is an especially deadly adversary. He seems almost indestructible thanks to his abilities, which gives him a dangerous aspect.
And for the best reason of all.
