What's your favorite/preferred text editor to use when coding? Why do you like it so much?

For me, I can't imagine coding with anything but sublime text 3. I've used plenty of other programs, but sublime just does it all better. Not only that, but there are hundreds of add-ons to make it even better than it already is!

Sublime Text 2 seems to be my go-to text editor every time. I've tried others, including Dreamweaver, but I wasn't a fan. I haven't tried ST3 yet, but I'm quite happy with ST2. Are there any major differences between the two versions?

I would highly recommend switching to 3. While both versions of the editor are light and easy to use, plus just plain awesome, the 3rd version has several significant improvements that actually make it a worthwhile download

I'm quite happy using Notepad++ I like how simple it is and I can get my work done fine with that.

One more vote for Notepad ++
And one more vote for Notepad from old school hardcoders
