XenForo.
Then, Invision.
Then, vBulletin.
After, maybe, ZetaBoards (when it still existed).
Next, probably, phpBB.
phpBB is the baseline for forum software in my opinion. Anything else below that, ... nah.

When it comes to paid forum software I would have to say that Xenforo is my favorite, I love how it has so many features built into the base software that can be used to help you create a great forum. In terms of the free forum software, I would have to say MyBB as I feel that is the closest you will get to something that is similar to Xenforo but for free.

PhpBB for me. Have nearly always used it.
Discourse. They are the best, free or paid.
Used to be Invision Community. But XenForo is my new favorite one. 
XenForo for me also. I do like Invision Community as well.

Pro boards was good, until i discovered Invision free... and than discovered many others and left those behind haha
