I had seen the training of drummers in school bands. They follow a rhythm appropriate for each musical piece. In a sense, those little drummer boys have a repertoire of sorts. And if given a new piece, I don't think they can create the desired rhythm. A drummer of combo like Ringo Starr amazes me because talent is evident. Particularly drummers of rock bands, I don't think they can play that good if they are not talented.

I've not really seen talent-less musicians. It isn't like in math where people are forced to learn stuff - they don't like. The whole C or D student thing doesn't seem to exist in music.

Staying in rhythm can also be pretty tough for some. You need a very good ear and especially if there are people cheering and others playing their instruments. It's much harder to play as a group than alone and even alone, it's kind of hard to keep a beat steady. This is why there are professional drum players. It's tough.

I think that more than talent, it is a matter of practice and building our skills. I am sure it can be easier for some people than others, but there's only so much your raw instinct can take you without the proper dedication and motivation to explore and push yourself outside your limits.

Many of us have a starting point where we're an uncoordinated mess that sounds more like we're doing random noise rather than a nice beat, haha.

Drawing seems impossible for me and surely it's about not trying enough.
