Does social media help forums or destroy them?

It depends about what people share about websites, in half of cases it is false reviews. But sometimes there is legit reviews so you cannot differenciate between them in half of the cases.

Forums are preferable over social media. I love paid forums because they are a great source of information for the people. Social media is used for spreading misinformation by many people.

If your forum actually gives rewards and gifts to its members, then they would definitely keep coming back to your forum. On a situation where it does not, the members would still come back to the forum as their interesting topics and events to engage themselves in.

There is even paid social media networks means also they offer reward program for people for participate in their program or something like that.

You can't compare socal media platforms and forum, they all have different server. To me social media platform helps you boost your forum, you can be creating contents and be talking more about on your website.

If you have a forum, and you have a twitter and Instagram page and facebook page for it, what stops people from using those social media posts instead of your forum?
It is difficult to provide a comprehensive response to this question because the influence that social media has on forums is likely to vary on a variety of factors including the specific platform, the magnitude of the forum, the kind of the topics addressed, and the user base.
