Okay, first, I am new here and as such I am unsure if this is the right place for this discussion. If so, I would request the admins to please move this to the right place. Thanks.

I am coming up with a website for a client wherein, they are into redirecting a few clicks to other websites. A few of these (other) websites have AdSense installed on them. The client will be sending emails with links to the sites and if these links are clicked, the user will be activating a script on the client's site which would eventually redirect them to the needed URL. (This is being done to store the amount of traffic being sent to any site from the clients website and for other statistical reasons).

Now my concern is - Will doing so harm the AdSense of the other websites? I mean, will it be treated like other traffic driving sites by Google ?

While I am not an Adsense expert, I shouldn't think it would affect earnings unless Google believes that the traffic is low quality. As long as the visitors engage with the ads as they normally would then I doubt there'd be any issues.

No one really knows how Google Adsense works. I wouldn't be too worried about it. Since your client has decided to do so, I'm sure they are well-aware of the risks involved.

Unfortunately, a friend of mine had lost her Adsense account because she used the services of some traffic generating sites and that is why I think it might be a risky proposal. Agreed, that there will not be that many clicks and also, they should act like a normal outbound link to the 3rd party website(s). The clients however say that as they will not be using any iFrames and Frames but a simple redirect, it should not be an issue.

It depends on how you redirect the traffic. By example, if you had a website banned by adsense and not your account being banned, you can redirect the traffic to a new website where you fix the problem with 301 redirect. It is not a problem!

But if you are trying to cheat on both users and adsense system buy buying or redirecting traffic, it is bad! I redirected more than 13 articles from a website to another while i kept both online; one was banned and the other not; my account was not banned! It was legit redirection!
