It's all connected to fear of the unknown, and hope. Since we were little the church has used the fear of hell to control the mind of worshippers. Church leaders created their own narratives that allowed them total dominance of the mind of their followers. Imagine a pastor giving out punishments to a church worker who was caught in adultery. But when the same pastor committed the same offence, he rebuked anyone who dared mention his sin and told the congregation only God can judge him, not man.Seriously it is the manipulation that these so-called man of God uses on their members that makes me very annoyed and frustrated most of the time. Although when I look at it in how individuals allow themselves to be misled, manipulated and used like they are fools and ignorant is something that I still cannot be able to understand.
Those church leaders perfected the act of mind control using fear of the people, and their needs too. Pastors preaching about the importance of first fruits and tithes yet they do not do the same. They have thriving businesses but will summon members to church to come pray for money. They see the fear; they see the desperation. They learnt to use it to their advantage.
These days, any pastor who is good at leading resounding prayers about recovering lost or stolen glory or whatever they call it becomes a hot cake. A lot of people are lost.
