I have also mentioned in one of my posts that many company marketers use sampling techniques to promote food items in supermarkets. The sampling technique has been used by marketing strategists to promote and sell products. So what do you have to say about product sampling? Do you think it is a really effective technique to promote or market your product?

I think that sampling is a very good idea because it will give the customer a sense of what they are buying and the quality of it and this can be a major deciding factor for them. however you should have limitations on the sample in order to prevent customers from taking advantage.

Yes, I know that sampling must be done ina limited way and also under your budget. You must make an expense budget and also include sampling expenses in it and this way you would be able to spend less money. Sampling also must be done in a limited way and samples must be provided in a limited quantity.

Definitely a lot of companies today still do this especially when they come and exhibit their products that's a fun fair or an exhibition. It is a good marketing technique.

In the supermarkets here it is common to see a promo girl who gives free samples of hot dogs, shampoo, soap and other snacks and household items. The concept is to let the prospective customers get a taste of their products and it is up to them to decide. For me the sampling is a good idea because that is the proof of the pudding, so to speak.

I believe that sampling is an excellent technique to promote your products. In my country they use sampling a lot in large companies, and over time the results are positive. Marketing and this technique should go hand in hand when possible.

When it comes to promoting products sampling plays an important role because they're lots of people that would prefer to see samples or even use it before patronizing the product.

Of cause it does. It plays a Hugh role. Like if i go to a shop wanting to buy a phone, you might have told me about the phone or i might have seen it online and read about it. I would also like to see it with my own eyes as well to know how it feels when i hold it etc

True mostly when it comes to technology we like to see with our own eyes how it works before we can think of buying

You are right @Mostee501 , many people prefer the product sample before buying. Just like when you go to buy an electrical product, you try it and then you pay, so I think it is very necessary.

True, it helps alot lets say i go too the supermarket and i get a free hotdog now i may not decide to buy right then and now but another day when i would be in the mood for hotdog, i would actually remember i once got a free hotdog someone it creates gratitude in me to want to go back there, then if its actually sweet, that would also be at the back of my mind as well

Good point, everyone loves free things, so there should be a standard on how you give it out, if possible create measures so those that have gotten before cant come back again form more

How do they promote products like shampoos? Do they allow people to try shampoo at supermarket by making them wash their hair? How does it work? Can you expalin?

Yes it is important to keep that samples in your budget, because it will show what leeway you have in terms of your expenses to go for samples. Furthermore, sample sizes should be just enough for a customer to make a decisions and should not be a substitute for teh actual item. Some businesses give out too big of a sample and this discourages purchase of the product.

That's right, at fairs you can get it very often. In my country there is a town where they usually give the food to taste as well as certain deli places. this leaves businesses and companies with high sales possibilities.

Sampling of products for marketing activities is a part of the marketing process itself and so can be very effective for the business. But as suggested above, it should be done with a sense of limitation based on budget

Indeed, especially when the company produces a quality product, they are assured of customers. These fairs are usually fun because you interact with a representative from the company.

That's right, sample products are mainly for testing to enable the customers know what they're buying before purchasing the product.

Personally I love them, and every time I have the opportunity to attend one of them, I go to spend money and enjoy. Sampling is always applied in these places and it is an attraction for everyone.

I think it is one of the best forms of marketing, although I understand that not in all cases sampling can be used, since it is an expense, but many times it is worth it to get new customers for the company.

sampling does work provided the sample is very good and outsmart other similar products in the market. You also need to ensure that your product quality will not be less compare to the sample

In that you are absolutely right, for everything to work well with sampling, it must be of quality and outperform the competition. Otherwise, instead of attracting customers, they will most likely stay away from the business.

Yes, it plays a very crucial role to attract people coming to our business shop or patronizing our products online. Be it affiliate products, or the one sampled using social media to gain online presence for the products and sell offline. All is sampling, it attracts people, if its well carried out.
