Do you search for people to advertise?

If you have ever run a forum that has had a decent sized member base, have you looked for people to pay for advertising (aka sponsors) or did you stick with Adsense or related programs?

Though I do not use Google Adsense, I use all the ad networks which I can find to make some money for my websites, I do not run forums at present. I also try direct advertising though I rarely sell advertising, since most of my websites are low traffic.

I tried looking for advertisers through buy sell ads and ad clerks but without any luck.
