I think it's really important to show that you're engaged with the community and one way of doing that is by replying to as many threads as possible. Obviously if you're a huge community, that might not be possible however if you're a smaller forum, it should be a must in my opinion. What's the point in other members creating content if you're not even going to acknowledge it? Sometimes you won't be able to contribute to it, but even a simple "Great post!" or "Great question, hopefully someone will be able to help!" is better than nothing.

What are your thoughts on this?

I post on every thread that I can post relatable content to. If I know nothing about the subject of the OP, I don't post. I think it is indeed important to engage as much as possible, but I don't think your community depends on you to post in every thread across the board. Could be a bit overkill in some instances, but engagement and content are key to a forum's success.

Yeah it doesn't work for big communities! I guess if the forum is active enough for other members to keep engaging without your input then that's just as good!
That is definitely the goal I feel like. We would love any forum to run smoothly without a lot of staff direction but that’s okay too. Most staff also enjoy the topics of the forum so it can go both ways.
I'd have to be online 40 hours a day to do that. Not even
You’re stuck with us. 🤣

Yeah definitely - I should've probably been a little more specific as it really only applies to new/small communities who are trying to grow their userbase! It would be a dream to have a forum so active, you could be gone for a week and nobody would notice lol!

I do my best to try and reply to every thread but I do know that there are times I may not have something to say in a thread that would add to the discussion or even that I can sometimes miss some threads as well, especially when things start to get busy.

I do try to reply to every thread on my forum but again, it is only possible if I have something to add and I do not miss them.

This exactly!

One-liners can be good if the content comes from your heart. Of course everyone has different views on this which I respect, but I do feel that conversations naturally drifting off-topic can be good for a forum although it has to be natural and appropriate conversation. So I tend to post when I have something to say and it's sincere but not just to boost my post count. Naturally for those not used to this kind of forum, some will see this as spamming. I prefer forums that allow off-topic posts to an extent.
