There are people that need dead silence before they can be able to read. I have also seen people that needs to have the earphone 🎧 active and music playing just for focus when they read. Are you the type that plays music before you can read?

I listen to music during most things or at least find it a plus to do so, but reading long-form items and writing long-form items I find it too distracting. I will throw on stuff without vocals at times if I am reading all day, but that is mostly background noise, and debatable if I will enjoy it or turn it off.

No, I don't listen to music whenever I'm reading anything. As long as it's me having to read, it doesn't matter if I'm reading it online or in printed book, I can't have music playing at the time. It will keep distracting me.

When I am reading, I am fully immersed into it. I want a quiet environment to read, I cannot read when there is noise in the background, I cannot read even when the music I like is playing in the background.

The only thing which I can do when music is playing soft in the background will be sleeping. My brain only need to rest in this situation unlike how it needs to work when I'm reading.
