Social media can definitely be used as a political makeweight especially when parties use it to spread propaganda or lies about an opposing party. These apps that we use as social tools play a huge role in framing people's perceptions about life and other issues, of which politics is no exception.

All media are manipulated by the giant corporations and governments and social media is no exception. People get swayed by popular opinions and it is easily attainable with social media.

Indeed! Look what happened to Philippine Elections last May this year. The son of a dictator has won over someone with good records because the opponent has used social media to spread false information and change history through them. Unfortunately, many have been fooled.

Personally I have never had a though about social media platforms as either politically based or not. simply because everyone is allowed to post and repost on the platform either in form of advertisement or any other to limited the issue of violence.
