In running your forum, do you allow your members to complain about you publicly especially when they are not satisfied with a new policy or do you want all complaints to be sent through DM?

I have seen some forums where it's against the forum rules to complain about the owner/staff on how they run the forum.

How do you go about this?

While this has not happened to me, I don't think it is bad to let members complain about you openly. I like to exercise democracy and in democracy everyone should be allowed to express openly.

Well, I think if someone has any issues with anyone, including the forum owner or staff members, it's better to talk to them directly or through DM, and not publicly.

This is how a well-mannered and mature person should behave.

I can't say it has ever happened with me. I am used to banter and inside jokes, it is expected when people get comfortable on a forum. I think if someone wanted to openly criticize me, I would allow it just for the simple fact that they would likely make themselves look bad, not me.

If an employee has a complaint, I think it's good to idea to air it, because if you don't, that can turn into eventual spite. If an employee I hired had a problem, I'd like to hear them out. It's good to hear your employees out, because ignoring them does nothing good.

i do not have a forum yet, but when i do have one i think i would not allow members to complain openly instead they can reach me as an admin to lay out there complain.
