Do people write blogs for other websites or....?

Do people write blogs for other websites or do they mostly just make their own blog page?

I used to do freelancing posts for people but I decided I would just rather own a blog myself. Once it reaches a good level, I will hire other writers to work beneath me.

I never have, but there are a lot of people who do that. It seems like a pretty cool idea to be able to write on another blog, but not have to worry about promoting the post or any of the other hassle that comes with the job.

I have in the past, but not so much anymore. I am mostly concerned with my own projects now. It is a great way to get your name out there though, and build an audience for when you decide to start your own blogs.
