Each and every office and workplace may have a really different settings. So, not all the workplace may have a similar kind of workplace under all conditions. There are many workplaces where employees work right in front of boss and I used to work in such kind of company.

I believe that the reason why some businesses usually have the setup where the employees are going to be in the same space with their bosses is because they don't have the money to rent bigger business apartments that is going to have different offices for those that are in high authority.

This is the exact reasons why many offices may have cubicles. There are many offices that have a separate section and i think that this is due to the fact that they do realise that each and every employee may require privacy.

Well, when employees work in a cubicle, they may feel safe. This is because cubicle consists of a separate partition. This may enable the employees to work privately. Having said that, it is a good thing, but it is not present in many workplaces, including many offices.

Personally for me, it is not about feeling safe but about feeling comfortable with your boss around facing you directly whenever you are working. This is something that is capable of adding a lot of tension for someone who is working in that kind of business environment.
