Since all the classes I wanted to take in my first year of Jr. High were taking I had no other choice than to join band class. To be honest I thought it would be boring at first but as the days went by I started to appreciate music more. Since it was level one all we learned to play was the recorder which I enjoyed a lot. Learning music history was fascinating to me especially learning the music notes and different melodies.

Band class was a blast in high school. I know it sounds sort of nerdy, so forgive me, but I really enjoyed learning the basics of the snare drum, which was totally new to me.

I don't think it's nerdy at all as I also enjoyed it. Band class was one of the best experiences I had in my entire school years. I am actually thankful I didn't miss out on a class I would have never chosen myself, I guess it was meant to be.

I had a rather primitive band practice with no proper leader or a professional. We just were guided with make-do teachers that were a bit familiar with the basics of drumming and singing.

Actually, we didn't have a music class or came in school. Students were expected to be innovative and music lessons were given by relying on the creativity of the teachers who were invariably in the languages department.

Lucky you are that you got the opportunity. Some of us still believe that it should be introduced in schools at earlier levels so that students develop interest early on.

I actually used to play the flute in junior high. It was pretty fun but the flute wasn't entirely for me at the moment. I was always interested in the piano, the drums or the guitar.

They should because it can create potentially masterful music artists. Everyone is focusing on giving the children jobs such as law or office work but what about music?

Nope at my School we had nothing like that. In fact at our School, we didn't do anything musical related except a Choir club every week. But that was disappointing because I like playing on the drums, and it really takes the stress away from me. I should've suggested it now, then maybe there would of been drum lessons!

There were no band classes in my school. But we had some percussion clubs. We didn't have any professional drums or other equipments. I remember I used to play the drums and they were made of old tins and cans. The guitars, flute and other instruments were also made from trash collectibles. However, we managed to produce musical sounds with them and composed our songs or did covers for other songs. I first joined a band when in college and it was a great experience. It took me time to adjust to modern instruments but I eventually got the hang of it.

I haven't grown in a band environment either, as in my schools there were no bands. I do have a traumatic experience though lol, as I was a part of a chorus for a while, and the insensitive teacher made me sing along with the girls because she said I had a girl's voice, and everyone laughed at me... :D Finally she corrected and said I had a "blank" voice. Wow, much better.

We had our own band created at school, called "The LookOut" we are just typical kind's of men, but our bond as one are never ending, because we are all best friends we are only just 6 members and we play like there is no tomorrow.

Nope. I just wished we had band classes in our school or they offer such class to public schools here in our country, I surely would have joined. But I did joined the school choir in high school and the campus chorale in college because I really have great love on music inn whatever form it maybe.

I wish to have a band classes on our school for us to be socially active since we can associate with other schoolmates who have passion in playing instruments and to learn more in handling different musical instruments.

Yes there is a band class in my school...but sorry i am not the part of it... but i love to see them how they playing instruments...Its really nice to hear and enjoy it very well...
