There have always been need for charcoal since time immemorial; and the demand of charcoal is still very high in the market these days especially for those residing in the temperate region. You can start a profitable business of making charcoal and supplying to the market in commercial

The charcoal business is only good for me if it is used as a means for an industrial process rather than as a means for cooking alone. The coal itself can be sold to big industries that uses them for their industrial process for good sums of money

Charcoal business is a very profitable business in which anyone can venture into. But in this 21st century people tend to drop charcoal and go for gas cooker that's for urban area but not that they don't use it they do but you can only sell more of it in the rural areas than the urban area but you get more profits in urban areas than the rural area.

Charcoal business is still profitable but not like before I think. It is no longer in high demand, most people have switched to the use of gas cookers. But you can target, food sellers, that cook in large quantities.

Setting up a charcoal based business can be so much profitable, if you have a very good client base especially when you are from a country that is easy to source the materials for charcoal and you have clients outside of your country that basically needs this charcoal.

Business Summary This business is about buying, transporting and selling charcoal. A trader buys charcoal from the countryside

I got a coal pot one time ago just for cooking beans. Anytime I purchase charcoal I discover that the same amount is equivalent to that of kerosine. And at the end of the day it is little of it that remains. I wont really say it is economical, but it is convenient. And its really moving in the city.people even book down for it.

Explore the market. Before opening any kind of business, it is important to research the market first. Find out where there is a demand for charcoal and where you can buy charcoal for less to re-sell it later for more. Usually, it is best to buy charcoal in rural areas and sell it in big cities in big quantities.
Find funding. If you already have some money to start your business, then great. If not, make sure you find it before venturing into the whole thing, as nobody will deal with you if there is no money involved. Consider asking friends and relatives for loans, or you can consider getting a small loan from a bank. Regardless, you do not need that much to start the business, so do not go overboard.
Find the supplier. Once you have acquired the necessary funds, it is time to find someone who would be willing to supply you with charcoal. Look for the best quality to price ratio, as you will find it hard to sell cheap but low-quality charcoal (and vice versa). You can start with a one-time supply and see how it goes.

I live im an urban areas, and charcoal business is flourishing here.

It all depends on the demand, as in some rural areas, the people will produce their own charcoal, making demand lower than the urban areas.

Charcoal is a very valuable fuel for household and industrial uses, it has been in use since man started cooking food. It is the product of an incomplete or partial combustion of carbon mainly from wood. Traditionally it is prepared by burning wood from some particular kinds of trees. The burning process is carried out in a controlled environment with little supply of air and for some calculated amount of time determined by the producer. Most of the wood used for this purpose are gotten from trees which of the general category called hardwoods, predominantly found in the North-Central states of Nigeria. Its demand in Nigeria as a source of fuel over time has remained almost constant, this is because of the following reasons

The good thing about the charcoal business is that it is highly profitable and as one may not need to rent a shop. All that is probably needed is a free space in front of the house to display the wares.

As long as you have a good relationship with your supplier and customers, running a charcoal business should be as easy as 1-2-3. Make sure you have regular supplies, and that the product is stocked for the customers to buy.

Charcoal business is one of the most disrespected businesses. People often don't pay attention to it lucrativeness. The profit making in it is so enchanting. I ones heard of a lady that use to buy in buck and send it over to Sweden from Nigeria. It Is really an amazing venture. Knowing where to buy it is the only issue.

Charcoal briquette is a new type of charcoal that is made from waste materials by professional briquetting equipment. Unlike the ordinary charcoal, the materials are not obtained from cutting down trees or burning freshly-cut lumber, firewood or timber. Instead, charcoal briquette is made from forestry, agricultural, yard and other industrial wastes after charcoal briquetting process. So, starting a charcoal briquette business to produce high quality charcoal briquettes for sale are welcomed project in many countries.

Many people believe that charcoal business can only be successful business in rural areas, but I feel it can also thrive in urban areas, I need more enlightment please
Whoever told you that charcoal business only thrive in rural is so wrong because it's a very good business commodity that sells very well both in city areas. It's even a product of export as UK needs it to power their chimney because of cold. I'm even considering to invest in it as it's moving very well now they are in winter season.

I beg to be disagree with you, charcoal is no longer in demand in the cities. The reason is that people are using gas to prepare food. Making use of gas has increased the speed at which people prepared foods. Charcoal will take longer time to a job before you start preparing your food. also people are making use of electric cooker to prepare food in the Urban centre, I don't think they will need charcoal to prepare foods.

It is a very good business no dought one tend to make good profit from it . buy it will sell more in the rural area that is the market piont. Urban areas have all switch to using gas which is faster and easer. So if you would want ti venture into this kind of business you must be environment specific.

The truth is, charcoal business is a lucrative one but many people are not even aware of it. Probably, that's why people are not in to this business. My mums friend is into selling charcoal but its on a small scale in a rural area. And She makes her money regularly albeit its small. If it can be done on a large scale then you'd surely make more. Some go to the extant of exporting charcoal to other countries that lack them. This brings in huge profit.

Charcoal Business is not even profitable like that in rural areas like urban areas. In rural areas people tend to buy it cheap since that's where it's mostly produced from, but the cost of transportation and some other inputs will make it more profitable in urban areas
Charcoal business is less profitable even in rural areas. People now use Gas since it is fast and convenient.
