Regarding not being able to take No for an answer? My religious beliefs don't directly address this.

However, you mention lying, and lying is bad. So is having a temper tantrum. So is forcing yourself on someone.

A person who can't take no for an answer is either a selfish or spoiled brat, lol.

There is no excuse for lying, and not being able to say no is just a personality weakness..

I think this is something personal and doesn't apply to every single situation. Certain (not all) friends can be insisting but somehow still respectful, because we know each other. Sometimes I'm thankful that my friends insisted, as I was in a shell that took me long to break out of
