A Tennessee woman who was kidnapped late last week whose corpse was discovered in a Memphis neighborhood on Monday has been positively identified. As Eliza Fletcher was running close to the University of Memphis early on Friday morning, surveillance footage captured her being pushed into an SUV.
Cleotha Abston, 38, the suspect in the case who was detained, has been charged with first-degree murder and first-degree murder in the commission of an abduction. Despite the fact that no one else has been charged as of Tuesday morning, Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davis told reporters it was likely that more might be.
What a fantastic job the law enforcement has done to find the suspect so quickly. It is a shame that she was not found alive.
