When I was a child my school used to play at a parade created by the teachers where the students would perform. I found it very entertaining to watch, and found it quite fascinating how the performers could keep focus on their instrument playing while a big crowd surrounded them. I loves the sound and the great vibe it brought to the parade.

Have you played in a parade?

Our high school marching band would always be in all the Thanksgiving, Christmas, and 4th of July parades. Those were always fun, along with the sports games and competitions we performed in.

Sounds like a very interesting parade. I would love to watch a Christmas parade someday, it would be a dream come true since christmas is my favorite holiday. I can see myself and my family together watching an event full of joy.

I was a part of such a parade on a rotation basis. It was such a proud moment for me to be in front of the whole assembly among the chosen few to be singing and playing!

I always saw some people wear some sort of ear plugs to focus on the music instead of the crowd. I think some actually have a musical notes paper in front of them and stay focused on that instead of the crowd.

Your post reminded me of the good old school days. I was a part of the school parade band. I used to play a drum. It was a real fun time. I used to enjoy all the practice sessions.

On the day of performance we were given a special band dress . I loved to perform wearing hat dress. It has been more than 15 years now but still I remember all the beats very clearly.

High school students here have a marching band where members are considered scholars who do not pay tuition fee. But I have to say that I still have to see a school band that really plays good music. It is common to hear school bands with discordant sounds. What I admire are the professional marching bands with colorful costumes and lively marches not to mention a wide repertoire.

Quite Interesting. I didn't know about this before, but after seeing this i wanted to see watch this kind of parade.

I love parades. I also love marching in them. During my high-school years, I played in the marching band, and during my senior year I was drum major. I will admit that when I first started it was difficult to get used to playing and marching. My sound was often choppy, but once I learned how to separate my upper body from my lower body it became a lot easier. It was loads of fun. Making music with my closest friends was the best part. As drum major, I definitely missed playing the part. Since graduation, I haven't gotten back into it.

Did you all win any awards?

Parades, games, and band competitions were always fun.

Did you all win any awards?
Yes! We were a small band, class 1A, but we usually won either first or second place in any given category. I'd say there were about 2-4 bands in our class.
