What do you guys personally think of automated blogs?

I personally don't care much for them or would ever attempt to make one myself. I know someone who has made one before only to get some content on it and sell the blog off, but it would be interesting to hear what other people think about automated blogs.

Automated blogs are good if you are looking to get content on a blog fast to be able to sell the blog off however then you run into the problem of maybe getting duplicated content and then being penalised for that as I know search engines don't appreciate duplicate content. I personally would rather sit and built a blog up myself in my own words with my own content and then sell it off.

I don't really like them. It contributes to basically no discussion, and it ends up just being a repost of something. I would appreciate it more if someone could just take a little bit more time and post an insightful article based on a recent post or something like that.

It gets content on the blog, and like you had mentioned, it's easier to sell it that way than post real blogs. I would never read one or be an active member on one, but I don't anything bad about them.

I urge you to steer clear of using automated blogs. There are a litany of copyright issues associated with it.

They're also pretty bad for SEO. Copied content is a pain when it comes to Google.

Never used but I've seen tons of them lately. I don't think anyone writes original content anymore.

I agree. It's for lazy people who think they will get a ton of traffic by doing something completely unethical and illegal.

Depends on your goal. With a proper approach splogs are still good at driving decent amounts of traffic.

Depends on if the content they are getting feeds from are good for me.
