Are hashtags as important on social media as we first thought?

I heard a while ago that Facebook for example, doesn't really use hashtags like it used to. If you spam a post with a bunch of hashtags, I hear it actually is worse for your page than anything. Is this true? I don't use hashtags much on twitter anymore, because the point of hashtags are to draw people in, and if that hashtag doesn't get a lot of hits, it may be pointless to use it.

Do you guys use a lot of hashtags with your social media?

Hashtags are just like the meta tags you use on your website or the keywords you use for your content. These words or groups of words will help your website gain exposure on social sites and even search engines.

Hashtags I have found do work in helping you reach the eyes of people who will be interested in the content that you post but if they are overused it will not help you but affect your posts more. I remember learning that myself when I first started using Twitter. I would make a tweet marketing something and would add quite a few hashtags to the tweet and it was when someone politely messaged me on Twitter explaining that I was hurting myself more than I was helping myself with so many hashtags and to instead use fewer hashtags that were relevant to my post. I have also posted tweets on Twitter and also posts on Facebook that have had no hashtags on them and still got some traction with them so I think it varies. The more established you become the less you will need hashtags I feel but hashtags will always help when used properly.

Hashtags are very important when you are doing social media marketing but the hashtags that you are using should be relevant to the topic, if not people won't pay attention to your post.

Hashtags are very important and a lot of people used to consider them before because priority was attached to it by the algorithm but it is no longer as important as it is right now again.

Because they make material more easier to find, hashtags continue to be a crucial element of social media marketing. Being used properly, hashtags can significantly improve exposure and interactions because they are frequently employed to designate subjects and dialogues.

hashtag are very important on social media as they are one way of you generating organic traffic to your profile for people searching for that related hashtag and this would increase your brand visibility.
