Well it depends even though I can not say much about it disadvantages but I most definitely appreciate it advantages to the society because it aids as an instrument which are used for the development of programmes which are very useful to.the societal benefit and development.

I think these days using an e-commerce system is the best, and it seems to be what a lot of people do these days, using WordPress isn't the best, I know there are others like Wix and the liked that provide the same services and are safer.

The biggest disadvantage when using a wordpress site is site vulnerability. Customization and functionality features are also severely limited without the use of several plugins many of which are expensive. In my opinion for a e-commerce site you'll be better served with a shopify site or a well designed web application

Even though I don't have any website at the moment, but it is really good learning from a community of different people with different views. I have really learnt from the write up above. That is just my opinion. Thanks for sharing.

I think advantages over weigh the disadvantages. If you are on limited budget and want to start small WordPress is the best option to start an online store. Since you don't have to spend on building the store, you can spend on marketing.

The advantage of choosing WordPress is its user friendly CMS, it's very easy for an admin to navigate through the backend of their WordPress site, edit pages and upload new content. While the disadvantage of it is that though installing updates is important to the health of your WordPress site, but it can be a nuisance if not done thoughtfully. And certain themes contain a lot of unnecessary generic code, this can decrease the speed of the site and cause slow load times.

I'd still recommend WordPress for beginners though because the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and once there's enough to build or expand the business, hosting and design can be taken to other services.
Of course when one is running an ecommerce platform, you don't expect to use free plugins - that would show you're not ready for business.

If you are using free resource to create a site, there will certainly be some disadvantages, but this does not mean the program is useless. Same goes with wordpress as a software for ecommerce site.

I don't really have an idea of the word press but it is something I will look into because it looks promising and I noticed that it had a lot of advantages

World press is very baise in dealing with reality of Africa which is underdeveloped due to lack of education and set back by our evil leadership going on the region and our colonial masters are silent because this act is beneficial to them

Advantages:
  • It doesn’t require too much technical knowledge to do so
  • It’s fast. Even after you begin from scratch, there are plenty of theme options that you can sift through to select the one that appeals to your sense of aesthetic
  • WordPress websites are pre-optimized for SEO. That’s one headache less for you to bother about.
  • WooCommerce slows down when the scale of operations increases. It isn’t capable of handling large databases. So, think about how big you want your ecommerce business to be before opting for WordPress to build it
Disadvantage:
  • Security Issues : Since WordPress relies on plugins, the open source software is vulnerable to malicious attacks, you know, those crooked people looking to destroy your data with malware. On the positive side, there are plugins to help you solve and prevent these issues.
  • Updates May Ruin Your site

WordPress is good, but using it for an online store would make it really difficult for people to see your being credible enough, you have to build a standard website to gain trust.

I feel that fact that it gives people the taught that it is free makes an advantage, but paying for theme and other things makes it a disadvantage showcasing that it is not totally free, also it is not secure

Flexibility is one of the advantages of using wordpress to create online store. It is easy to edit WordPress theme to suit your needs. The downside is that it is easy for the hackers to penetrate your website if you are using wordpress.

Wordpress ecommerc store can be a good for those who want to start small and do not want to spend a lot of money in shopify subscription. It is good idea to lower you start up cost,

In a small business, it is likely difficult that customers problem fester because the owner will know soon and take action. Big businesses often take extended period to react to customers complaint. Small businesses are more flexible and less bound by policies and procedures.

I think the most common disadvantage people have usually pointed out about the use of WordPress is the sites vulnerability to attacks and it being in secured. 2. When you are using a wordpress website, you need a lot of plug ins to get additional features.
3. These sites with their plug ins also require frequent updates which can be very annoying and frustrating.
That is the truth, using plugins in an online store you create will be able to notify you of any activity of scammers trying to harm your site, I think the frequent updates also requires alot of attention.
