Sometimes, the owner of the forum will have the "Owner" rank, while other times, they just have the normal "Administrator" rank. Which do you (as the owner of the forum) have and/or prefer?

I personally feel all forum owners should have the "Owner" title. The owner needs to be easily distinguished from the rest of the AT (Admin Team).

I have two different forums. On one forum, I am listed as an "Owner". On the other, I'm am listed as an "Administrator". However, I am the owner of both.

Personally, for me, I don't see that it matters all that much because usually you can tell the 'admin' and the 'owner' are the same.

I guess I've never had more than one admin in my forums, I've always been the only one. The next person I consider the highest is my Global Moderator and she has pretty much all the powers I have except to delete the forum.

Having the owner tag on you might scare off some people or it might make you look like you want to have all that power. I just keep myself as 'Administrator' at my forum even though I am the owner.

I usually have one admin, but even if I had one other admin, I'd still prefer to keep being called an admin. It just sounds... unnecessary.

I think the Owner should be the founder. Admin should be an Admin. I don't really know.

I'd only put an owner tag if I wasn't an administrator, I kind of feel it is implied that the people that administrate the community are the most invested in running it. If there is more than one admin I don't think it really matters who is the 'owner' unless the forum is on sale and people need to contact the current owner. Most of the time even big decisions would be taken by debating with the group.

I don't see it as a big deal the most important thing is making the forum effective and sustainable

I don't think I've ever used "Owner". I think I've always gone with "Administrator". I've always found admins who have "Owner" as their usergroup, usertitle, etc. were full of themselves and are looking for some kind of validation. I think it's just an ego thing. But that's just my opinion. I've seen it used quite a bit.

For me, I really don't see myself as an owner, we are equal. So I prefer to stay as an Administator. We all have the same responsibilities, so it's about working as a team, communicating regularly, and getting the task done at hand.

I love going with the title of administrator. Whats the point of knowing who the owner is? The whole point is the leadership and not the owner.

As long as you have a good time in a forum, you wouldnt want to know either.

I prefer to put my simple "admin", not owner. I don't discriminate between degrees and maybe bring other admins to me. I want us all to be a community, I don't want there to be discrimination between the ranks on the forum but I also want mutual respect.

Just like a lot of people in the comments have reiterated I don't think it matters much whether you are the owner or not. An owner can be an admin or whatever title he wants to designate himself.

I prefer the Administrator instead of Owner. Personally, the word Owner don't go well with me. Titles like general admin or Head admin can be used to different the Owner for other admin.

I don't think it's a huge concern; the most essential thing is for the forum to be productive and long-lasting.

That's very true. Many forums don't like to distinguished between the members and the real owner of a forum. maybe some of them don't want to be recognize as the owners of there forums.
