2012? Another End of the World Hoax?

I've seen so many of these claims over the years that eventually it just becomes more white noise.

However, the big build up to 2012 and the alleged end of the Mayan calendar seems to be getting to even the most level headed of people.

So what's your view? Another conspiracy theory that's got out of control.......or is it different this time?
