I was inexperienced, so I couldn't understand spambots on phpBB. In that case, I went to SMF, but it was eventually more of the same thing. Anyway, what software did you move to next? How was that? Myself, I found SMF interesting and new and somewhat different.

It’s been a long time since I used Smf, but I did like it. I used it to learn the basis of forum building before I started using vBulletin over 10 years ago.
Now i’m strictly a Xenforo fan.

My first community, which has been running since 2006, started on MyBB, and then moved on to Phorum, and then moved on to Invision and that's where we stay.

The second software I went with was Zetaboards. Well it's not necessarily software since it was free hosting, but it was the second forum platform I used. I wish it was still around. :\

The first community I built was on wordpress, later, I started using SMF. Then for my next community, I used phpBB and then for another community, MyBB.

i had 4 Music ones, with IPB, it used to work greattt in 2014-2017, while using IPB, i also used vBulletin which was good too..

My vBulletin forums are quite good and have been good in seo, right now its like dieying, and its sad, they made it an enourmous software full of useless shit and spam is hard on em too, man! i have since then made a new one in Xenforo to check out whats all the buzz... because about 60% of my webmasters friends migrated, and so far so good! im in love really... im still under nulled license but if it goes well, ill go up with plus :) lol

After I had my board on InvisionFree, I converted it to ZetaBoards. So, that is also the second software I used. I was highly dedicated to the resource forum I ran on the platform at the time and always wanted to make it better in some shape or form.

I don’t remember exactly which was the second, since it was over 20 years ago. I have a terrible memory. Sometimes I forget what I did the day before, let alone 20 years…

My first few softwares however were InvisionFree and phpBB.
