Would you ever sell your forum or site?

Nowadays being bought out is not a strange thing. It could be well possible that you receive an email or PM with the question if you’d sell your website or forum.

Would you however sell it? What do you think your website or forum is worth? Do you think it’s worth more than anyone would offer, having sentimental value to it?

For me, knowing the amount of hard work I put into a forum, I don't think I would be too quick to want to sell it unless I set it up for that sole purpose only. Some people set up forums and get them going just to sell on eventually but any forum I have created or have created now is not one I had ever planned to build up to sell.

It would depend on several factors, such as: how dedicated I am to the forum at the time, how much money is being offered, and how desperate I’m in need of money at the time. I’d hate to sell off what is essentially my primary hobby, but if some mega bucks were involved, I may consider it.

If the right amount offer is placed on the cards why not? Take for instance, after evaluating my forum's worth to be at $1,000 and I got an offer of $5,000 or more...why wouldn't I consider selling it? It's the worth of the deal that determines whether I'm going to sell or not.

If the price was right and I needed the money I might sell my forum or blog. Though it'll only be if I was completely desperate for money and was hitting rock bottom.

I'd sell Crafter Craze. It's just not worth anything and maybe $100 for the domain name. The forum isn't worth anything to anyone most likely.

I would sell my XF for some life or death emergency. Otherwise, the brand name is too powerful. Too much future in it.
