I would, provided that they can take care of it very well, in my absence. I don't care all that much when it comes to money but I care a lot about the future of the website. I am just too attached to my website to ignore everything for profit.

It's my childhood in a way and I would love to see it flourish even in my absence. Is it the same for you guys? Or would you want to handover your work for profit? It's certainly not a bad thing to look for profit and it depends on your situation as well.

So, what are your honest thoughts about this? Share your experiences if you have already sold your website to someone else or given it away for free.

Well if I was deciding on retirement for example, then yes I would probably hand it off. In my case I usually just sell the sites I run, so I'd sell off all of my sites and just live my retirement.

I don't think I would ever give a site away, unless I want some extra money on the side from site revenue or something.

There will definitely need to be some specific reason why I will have to do that because ordinarily I do not think I will just want to hand over my website to somebody.

if it is somebody that is worth it, then i can transfer my years of work to, as long as the person would take very good care of it and would also nuture it as i have done over the years but that would be when i am moving to something bigger.

I can only do that if the person is my family member or a close friend of mine or maybe someone that have helped me to make the website successful over the years. And another reason is that if I find something that is better, I can do so.

I would never do that. The person who'll take over will not have same passion or vision that I have for the business. Except I want to give it out to be managed by a capable hand but the final decisions will still be made by me.

I can transfer my years of effort to someone worthwhile if they will take excellent care of it and nurture it as I have done over the years, but that will only happen when I am moving on to something larger.

you should also have a very good reason for trying to give out your work, some time you might believe that the person you are giving would make better use of it than you are using at the moment.

I would not might giving out my website to some other person. As long as i am sure the person is going to take care of it like i did and if there's a good profit attached to it, then i'm good to go.

I am willing to hand over my years of work, a website, to someone, provided I am compensated with money. Actually i sold the first website I created to a person because I received really good offer.
