The .info extension is about information. For instance, something like Boston.info naturally gives the impression that it gives information about Boston. Anyway, it was one of the first non .com extensions I think.

O.K., who owns a .info or has owned one? Who has considered it? What advantage do you figure it will give you? Do you just like the look?

When I first saw the domain name provider dot tv it was surprising because the website that I opened was not related to tv. Anyway, I have seen a site with dot info but I don't really remember. It seems that domain name providers are getting too many that it may be a good business. All you need is a server (probably and array of servers to host the directory of the domain names). Having too many of them is good for the users because the cost of annual registration can be somehow controlled.

As for me on this case, I don't like dot info domain name extension. If the dot com extension is not available, likewise the dot net, dot co and dot org extent is not available, I would rather go for dot io or Dot xyz. Dot info extension does not portray high valuable in my perspective, dough it may stands for information.

Dot info is not a good one if you ask me . .com is the best and mist recognised in the world and thats what you should use for your website or blog. And if you into domain flipping business then you would know the price for a .com domain name is higher compared to the rest because its the best in the market

I don't think there is any problem with info domain. I have 4 domains with info domain, one of domains is already being used for a website, the website has a good position on search engine and receives good traffic from google.

Well, information is important to anyone. So I believe, .info extensions should be to inform people who are inherent, first of all, what the site is (just to give you a generic example).
Thank you.

I have never bought a dot info domain, however, I think this is a good domain for the site for wiki type site. I think this domain can also be used for a site that aims to provide information on certain topics. I believe info domain can be a good alternative for dot edu domains. I like the fee of the word info.

The domain name .info is supposed to be for an information website. Although, there are a lots of fake news out there, dishing fake information to the general public but, real and fake news are expected to be on the domain but people might not believe them, so it's not going to pull much traffic as a result of people's distrust in it. Someone like me has not been scrolling to click a news site with .info, so how can they get to majority?

I don't know if it's just me or whether it happens to anyone else, I'm not always comfortable with any site that's not .com, maybe it's because of the fact that it was among the first extensions. But .info extension is equally good, and thank you for pointing out that it's mainly for information sites, but some of us don't actually know that.

I never experienced such things. Moreover if this is helpful for me , ill learn later. But here i want some tips or info about investing my 1st earning ever about $10 . I want it to increase .

I think that its years of being a relatively cheap domain name have tarnished its reputation. Spammers and scammers tend to target TLDs that are cheap to purchase.

As a webmaster and a blogger have not used .info domain extension before and I don't think this kind of domain extension will be good for search engine ranking. If you want to rank your website on different search engine without any hassles just follow the normal process of using .com as this is the best extension for any domain

Apart from a couple of domains, you can use any domains for any kind of website. Edu domains are only available for educational institutes and gov domains are available only for government agencies. Rest of the domains can be used by anyone for any purose. Just like you I have seen dot tv being used for websites that are not related to tv, org for online store and net for a personal blog. The extension does not matter much these days.

I do not like a dot info website because people will actually put.com in that place when they want to search for you on the internet which can actually divert the attention of people to other people's website and then I'll either choose to patronize them or they may give up on looking for you.

Wiki type sites can us dot info domain. I think I like this domain name. I might consider using this domain name if I don't get my chosen dot com domain. However, I hear it is expensive than the dot com

I built my portfolio website with dot info domains. Currently, I own 4 dot info domains. I registered two info domains to create wiki sites, however, I never got started with creating wiki sites. These are good domains

The thing is once it is not a.com extension I wouldn't go for it so this .info domain extension is actually not my forte as I will feel that it won't attract organic traffic as much as I would love to my website if I were to use this domain extension.

Dot info domains are good for wiki type sites, article directories, link directories, website directories or any kind of websites that is informational in nature, however, this domain is expensive compared to dot com

.info file extensions are usually used for information. you can also make a beautiful blog with the .info extension, after all you also post articles and it can be considered informative.
