Where should you start with reading comics?

I used to collect comic books, but the collection I amassed I ended up selling many years ago. But I've been eyeing comic book sites for a bit now and was wondering if I should start to read more comics. I don't really want to spend so much money on comics though, but I would like to start with some series. Do you have any suggestions for some of the best comic book series to get into? Maybe Deadpool could be a fun start. But I'm always down to read into Batman, The Flash, most Marvel storylines and so one.
