YouTube is a good place to start learning about graphics design because there's a lot of information embedded in videos on that site. But for a newbie like you, I'll advise you get a good graphics design course from an expert and keep watching the videos alongside.
Truth is not all information would be released on those videos

Seriously, I've been getting a lot of email from that platform on learning so many courses with them but I've not really considered getting into any of their paid courses.

I imagine they intend for you to sign up for one of their courses @Heatman, however that is their job to advertise. On the other hand many who have taken such courses, recommend it as a very efficient site with excellent results.

There are many places to learn graphics design online now.
You can search so online classes apps on play store but when i was learning programming I used Udemy.
They have many courses and graphics design is one of them.
