When is something "racist"?

When is a comment racist and deserving of a warning in your opinion?

If it's got any hint of racism I'll send a warning, if it's directed towards anyone temp ban.
Of course this is all depending on the circumstances.

Arguments are fine as long as they are staying under control. But if race gets involved at all it's not appropriate. I'm an inappropriate guy, but racism is so old school and the topic is exhausted. Why bother bringing race into a thing that doesn't matter? We're all people, whether you are black, white, yellow, orange, purple, or blue.
