I have seen so many staffs retire from their positions. When do you take such a decision?
I know if you're not having enough time to maintain or devote time to the community, its best to retire.

Have you ever done this?

I can think of a number of good reasons to retire:

  • When you're no longer passionate about the forum.
  • If you and another member or staff member are constantly arguing.
  • When your not devoting enough time to your own projects.
  • If the forum has become stale and posting is super slow.
:)

Took the words right out of my mouth, don't have anything else to add.

Same for me right here

I only retire when I no longer have time for it. Otherwise, I'm plenty willing to stick it out to the end on whatever site. Or I guess too if the site flops or I become ineffecient at my job.

I'd personaly only consider retiring if my heart wasn't in the project or if the the owner has no real vision for the site or I had no ambition left to drive the site onwards.
Retiring shouldn't be taken lightly, and I feel for people who have to retire form their positions when they still love the site but are forced to leave for perosnal issues etc.

It would be for such reasons that I would retire from here. But I have a passion and drive to take this site forward and so does Xpl0iter. We won't be retiring anytime soon. ;)

I agree with you 100%. I've retired from positions where I knew I just couldn't meet the demands of the job, for those reasons exactly ;)
